Day 1: Hanoi - Sapa by train (no meal)

Our guide will pick you up at 08 pm to the Hanoi train station to transfer to Sapa and start our unforgettable Fansipan – Sapa trekking tour.

The train departure at 10 pm and arrive Lao Cai at 5am on the next day.

Overnight on train.

Day 2: Lao Cai – Sapa – Fansipan Moutain (B, L)

Arrive in Lao Cai Station in the early morning, we will be welcomed by our local guide and we transfer to Sapa and we will visit Fansipan Summit – which is considered ‘The Roof of Indochina’ which is 3143 meters high. Normally, it takes at least two or three days to reach the Peak of Fansipan Mountain on foot. However, with the newly three-rope cable car system we can see the peak and spectacular surrounding from the peak within half a day. The cable car ride will take around 20 minutes up to the top. After visiting the Fansipan Peak, we will be back to the town centre and have lunch.

We have free afternoon in Sapa. Overnight in a hotel Sapa.

Day 3: Sapa – Hiking – Homestay (B, L, D)


Arriving early to Lao Cai today we will transfer to Sapa for our trek, where we will enjoy spectacular scenery as we head to the Y Linh Ho village of the Hmong people. After lunch, we head to the Muong Hoa Valley, on the way passing through the villages of Lao Chai and Ta Van where we will have a chance to meet some of the locals.

Homestay experience:

Tonight we enjoy a homestay at one of the hill tribe villages. Homestays are a great way to get a feel for the culture and really understand more about the daily lives of the local people. A common saying is ‘you will arrive as a guest but leave as a friend’. Your overnight accommodation will be in a homestay in a village in Sapa.

Day 4: Sapa – Giang Ta Chai Village – Su Pan Village – Sapa (B, L)

We will enjoy a breakfast with our hosts before bidding them goodbye. Today will include a visit to the Giang Ta Chai village of the Red Dao minority people, we will also trek through a bamboo forest and pass by a majestic waterfall; taking time to rest and enjoy the surroundings.

After lunch, we will continue toward Su Pan Village where we will start our journey back to Sapa by car. Check in hotel and have the rest of the day free at leisure. Overnight in a hotel in Sapa.

Day 5: Morning free – Bus back to Hanoi (B/-/-)

Today, we have free morning to discover Sapa. In the afternoon, at 3pm, be willing to be in the lobby of the hotel. Our bus will pick you up (3pm- 3:30pm) to come back to Hanoi city. Fansipan- Sapa trekking tour end with great memories.

  • Warm clothes, scarf, hat, cap because the weather in Sapa is pretty unpredictable. It is normally cold in September, October, November, December, January, February and March
  • Due to altitude of Sapa, it is sometimes foggy in December, January, February and March.
  • Trekking shoes, sun glasses, sun cream, insect repellent are also necessary. You should take cash with you in Vietnam Dong because banking system in Sapa sometimes doesn’t function well. US Dollar, Euro, Australia Dollar are accepted in Sapa.
  • You should take medicine with you although there are some chemist’s shops in Sapa in case you get sick.
